Yes, The Surfer Beach Camp Weligama is a great choice for beginners, intermediate, intermediate-plus, and advanced surfers. We run surf classes for all levels, from complete beginners learning the basics to intermediate surfers improving their technique and catching green waves. Intermediate plus and advanced surfers will be taken to different advanced surf spots outside Weligama, depending on conditions and their ability level. Surf groups are divided by skill level, so every surfer gets the right experience for their level.

About 2.5 hours by car from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). We arrange private airport transfers on request - easiest is to add the transfer when you book. Public bus and train options are available but take 4–5 hours.

What's the difference between TS2 Camp and Beach Camp?

TS2 is our budget option - same Weligama location, simpler private rooms with AC and ensuite, but a 5-minute shuttle ride from Beach Camp. All surf lessons, yoga sessions, breakfasts, dinners, and events take place AT Beach Camp. You sleep cheaper at TS2, but socialise and surf at Beach Camp with everyone else.

Is the shuttle between TS2 and Beach Camp included?

We compensate transport at LKR 1,000 per room or dorm bed per day - covers tuk-tuks or scooter taxis both ways. The 5-minute ride between the two camps is short and easy, and you can also walk it in about 20 minutes if you prefer.

How Soul Surfer camp different from The Surfer Beach camp and TS2 camp ?

Soul Surfer Camp is a more independent, boutique-style surf camp with its own setup, rooftop restaurant with sea view, and rooftop pool. It is only about 20 seconds’ walk from the beach and around 5–10 minutes’ walk to Weligama town. Soul Surfer Camp also brings The Surfer original social vibe, with daily social activities, shared moments, and a friendly camp atmosphere where guests can easily connect. The Surfer Beach Camp and TS2 Camp are connected under the main Surfer camp experience, where guests share daily surf lessons, yoga, dinners, and events at the Beach Camp. Soul Surfer has its own atmosphere and facilities
